Meet Our Team Member: Rachael Moshman, Infant Mental Health Consultant
Rachael joined Tykes & Teens as an Infant Mental Health Consultant in November 2021 and is part of our Mental Health Consultation team serving Indian River County.
Rachael started working in early childhood education when she was 18. Her first job in the field was at one of the preschools where she now does mental health consultation for Tykes & Teens! She has also been teaching early childhood education classes at Indian River State College since 2011.
When asked what she loves about her position at Tykes & Teens, Rachael says she loves supporting and encouraging preschool teachers. “It is an incredibly tough profession, and they don’t get nearly enough credit. Especially since research shows that the first five years are the most important of our whole lives.” Rachael tells preschool teachers they are ‘brain architects!’
When not working, Rachael loves thrift shopping, yoga, writing, reading and traveling.
Another interesting tidbit: Rachael was quarantined on a literal island in 2020! She was on Tybee Island, Georgia when the world shut down for COVID. She had the opportunity to stay there for six months before returning to Florida.
