Meet Our Team Member: Nicole Scrivani is making a positive impact on 5th graders with ‘Botvin for Fun’ life skills program

As Tykes & Teens’ Elementary School Prevention Coordinator, Nicole is doing great work providing 5th graders in all Martin County public elementary schools with our Botvin for Fun prevention program.
This evidenced-based curriculum, centered around life skills, provides students with social emotional learning skills, coping skills, violence prevention and substance use prevention. The curriculum includes eight 45-minute lessons of varying topics that are presented in a fun and interactive way.
Nicole says she loves having the opportunity to experience something new every day while meeting with diverse students and various group dynamics.
She recalls having one student and teacher reach out to her to share that due to Botvin’s impact, the student was able to have ongoing conversations with her father where he was finally able to quit smoking. “This is just one of those moments that I will always hold dear to my heart,” says Nicole. When not working, you’ll likely find Nicole at the beach, enjoying her annual Disney pass, or hanging out at home with her little furballs, Onyx and Millie.
Thank you Martin County School District for collaborating with us on this important prevention program!
