Mental Health Matters Now More Than Ever!

Tykes & Teens is once again planning to kick off the holiday season with the Festival of Trees & Lights. This event not only brings joy and cheer to the community, but more importantly raises vital funds for the high quality mental health care we provide.

This year, Tykes & Teens is celebrating our 25^th anniversary of serving children and families along the Treasure Coast. In those 25 years we have served over 60,000 children through direct patient care and countless others through our prevention and education programs. This past year has been difficult for everyone and mental health services in our community have become more important than ever. As children have spent more time at home and experienced unprecedented uncertainty and fear, issues of abuse and neglect and feelings of anxiety and depression became ever more prevalent. Referrals for counseling services at Tykes & Teens have nearly tripled over previous years because of these issues. The need for additional funding for these services is vital and the revenue received from the Festival helps to ensure all children and families seeking help can receive the highest quality care, regardless of their ability to pay.

The 14^th Annual Festival of Trees & Lights is set to take place once again at the Flagler Center in Downtown Stuart from November 14-20, 2021. We are moving forward with planning our event as it would normally take place, including reintroducing Joy to the Girls and the Afternoon Champagne Tea. Despite the challenges faced last year, over $180,000 was raised for direct patient care at Tykes & Teens. The committee and staff were grateful and thrilled with these results, but due to the increase in demand for care and the decline in families’ ability to pay, those funds were used up quickly. Our sponsors are our primary source of revenue for this event and your commitment is greatly appreciated and essential to an extended impact.
