Sharlene Figueroa — Manager of Client & Business Services

Sharlene Figueroa joined Tykes & Teens in 2010 and has held several positions with the agency. She began her career with the agency as a receptionist, then worked in data entry, as a billing specialist and now as our Manager of Client & Business Services. Prior to working at Tykes, Sharlene raised her family and previously worked in the textile industry in New York City. She was a customer service specialist and then as a professional sales person. She was in that industry for over twenty years. She gained tremendous experience in working with customers and providing superior service during that time.

in August 2017, Sharlene was promoted to Manager of Client & Business Services. She has the unique perspective of having done nearly every job in her department. During the past year, she has led a successful restructuring to automate functions, streamline billing, enhance the intake experience for our clients and support the non-clinical functions of the agency. Her department interacts with new and existing clients, therapists and the community at large.

Born in the Bronx, New York City, Sharlene also lived in Puerto Rico for a few years where she learned how to speak Spanish.  She brings a passion for people to the agency and a results-oriented approach to problem solving. Her hard work and dedication have helped the agency by creating systems that support the business and client service functions.

Sharlene says that she loves working at Tykes & Teens because of what our agency stands for and the difference we make in the lives of the children and families we serve. She has a long history of volunteering in the community in soup kitchens, at schools and other organizations. “I get to work somewhere where I make a difference every day. What better job could anyone dream of having!” she says proudly.
